Jason A. Barret ~ Paranormal Romance

Hi. What’s interesting? In my life? A lot or maybe nothing, I guess it depends on your point of view. My characters… my alter egos so to speak, may have this bigger than life thrilling existence, but I've had adventures, experiences and relationships that I wouldn’t trade for anything.

I live in the same rural New York State community where I was born. That doesn’t sound very exciting either does it? But it has provided me with many adventures that I’ll try to share in my blogs still to come. For instance, the time when I was called to confront the man with a gun in a friend’s home and, like a fool, I went. Or the moment I came face to face with escaped murderer, Robert Garrow and, like a fool, tried to capture him.  Once, when we were told that the house was on fire we all ran out but, like a fool, I ran back in to see what the problem was.

But I digress, it was in this same community that I met and married my lovely wife, Janice. Actually, she lived around the corner from me and we both ignored each other until our teen years when the hormone thing kicked in and we suddenly realized that the cute little girl skipping rope and that goofy boy riding a bike had both grown up. We are now the proud parents of April and Lindsay; both of whom are now married. April married Darren and they have two beautiful boys, Brian and Owen. Two years ago Lindsay married Tim.

My hobbies are as varied as my life has been. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, staring into a blazing fire watching the dance of the flames, golfing, making candles and restoring my antique European sports car, a 1972 MGB. I don’t have much time for television but if I do, I'll look for an episode of Buffy, Angel, Medium or Supernatural.

My college and work background has been in math and science. I think I may be one of the few in this world who actually enjoyed the challenge of a good algebraic problem. In biology and microbiology I was fascinated by the laboratory setting and all of the minute details of the inner workings of the human body, for example genetics and all those microscopic things that make us what we are today.

They say to write from what you know, so I do. I try to write of relationships, real science twisted enough to make a new world come to life, and things belonging to the realm of the paranormal.

Thanks for visiting,

Jason
